EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE | SALVATION ARMY OF MCHENRY COUNTY

Provides emergency assistance to individuals and families who find themselves without the basic necessities for survival. Funding is limited to rent assistance, utility and water assistance, clothing and winter coat vouchers, and emergency food.

Each individual will be interviewed to determine the need, the best method to meet that need, and offer life skills guidance to prevent further occurrence of the emergency situation. Referrals are made to other human services agencies when appropriate.

Matches the value of SNAP (the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as food stamps) EBT purchases made on fresh fruits and vegetables at participating farmers markets and grocery stores with additional dollars to spend on more fresh fruits and vegetables.
