The Greater Champaign County AMBUCS chapter is actively involved in building wheelchair ramps, donating AmTryke therapeutic tricycles to individuals who are unable to operate traditional bikes, and awarding scholarships to students pursuing a career in the field of therapy.

Offers hands-on training sessions that provides information about opioid overdose and administer NARCAN to reverse its effects. Training can be done as an individual or in a group setting. Sessions are available for employers, families, community groups, and faith-based organizations throughout the Sauk Valley area.

OPIOID OVERDOSE REVERSAL TRAINING AND NALOXONE DISTRIBUTION | FORD COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Provides opioid overdose reversal training and training on how to administer naloxone, the overdose reversal drug. Training includes an overview of the opioid epidemic and an understanding of the process of addiction, how to recognize an opioid overdose and ways to help that person, instructions on how to use Naloxone, and time for participants to practice.

Those who have gone through training will receive a free Naloxone kit that includes two injectable doses of Naloxone, a guide to using Naloxone, rubber gloves, and a mouth shield, if needed.

NARCAN TRAINING | WORTH COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH

Offers Narcan training at various sites around the county. The class teaches individuals how to handle and administer Narcan and is taught by trained professionals from Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavior Healthcare Center in Mason City, Iowa. Call for the next available class.
