WIC is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, administered in Illinois by the Department of Human Services (DHS) and is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

A WIC EBT card will be provided to families so they can purchase healthy foods like fruits, vegetables, milk, cheese, yogurt, eggs, peanut butter, beans, lentils, whole grains, 100% juice, cereal, infant cereal, baby food and formula.

Breastfeeding mothers may also receive tuna fish and salmon.

Offers programs aimed at keeping families healthy. Provides the community with effective educational services in order to promote healthy lifestyles and a higher quality of life such as WIC, breast and cervical cancer screening, lead poison prevention, and low cost blood testing.

Adult immunization clinic including vaccines for immigration, work, and/or school. (Call for an appointment and for current fees.)

Vaccine program for children up to 18 years of age.

WIC nutritional program provides supplemental food.

Breastfeeding information and education.

Environmental health safety and surety - air, food, and water inspection and contamination issues (complaints and questions). Natural and infectious disease information, such as West Nile virus, insect bites, etc.

Emergency preparedness and response for bioterrorism threats (chemical, biological, and nuclear), mass immunization clinics, strategic national stockpile, volunteer opportunities.

Public health information.

Eligible individuals can receive nutrition education, referrals to community services, and vouchers for nutritious foods. Additionally, Peer Educators are available to provide breastfeeding education and support to pregnant and postpartum women enrolled in the Nebraska WIC program. Individuals interested in learning more about the WIC program can call for information.

Offers a variety of public health services, including communicable disease control, tap water testing, pool sanitation, public health facility inspection, tuberculosis screening, immunizations, and more.

Administers the WIC program. Participants in WIC receive an eWIC card for healthy foods. The foods provided by WIC provide nutrients that are essential for good health and growth. Participants also meet with nurses and dietitians to review health and diet information, discuss important nutrition information for their family, and receive referrals for other services when needed.

Provides eWIC Cards to purchase nutritious foods; nutrition and health education, breastfeeding support, and referrals for women, infants and children with a medical need.

Services are available for women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or have just given birth, and infants and children up to 5 years of age who meet the program requirements.

Provides a food assistance program for women, infants, and children. Program helps pregnant women, new mothers, and young children eat well and stay healthy.

WIC Farmers' Market Program:

Eligible WIC participants receive summer farmers' market vouchers.

Provides help with finding a doctor or dentist for medical/dental care, assistance in obtaining health care coverage, limited financial assistance available for necessary medical and dental care for those uninsured/underinsured, referral to community resources and services, health education and support on a variety of topics, nutrition education and support, dental hygienist services (oral health screenings, fluoride varnish application, referral to treatment), assistance in arranging transportation and translation services.
