NEXGEN LEADERSHIP PROGRAM | DREAM CENTER, THE

Works to find creative ways to respond to complex issues affecting young men and women and assist them in overcoming obstacles hindering their educational experiences. The academy provides youth with individual, group, and family counseling to address issues at school and at home, teaches students how to develop self-respect, respect for others, and personal accountability.

CRADLE OF HOPE PREGNANCY RESOURCE CENTER | CRADLE OF HOPE PREGNANCY RESOURCE CENTER

Provides free and confidential services. Services offered include pregnancy testing, pregnancy counseling, limited ultrasound, on-going pregnancy support, referrals for community support services, support after an abortion, Earn While You Learn Program, fatherhood mentoring programs, and Mother's/Maternity Home.

LADY ALL STARS MENTORING PROGRAM | KFACT - KEEPING FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES TOGETHER

- Prevention Education: Mentees participate in school based prevention education groups on a weekly basis. Topics covered include self-awareness, social bondage, etiquette, college and career education, and personal development.

- College/Career Preparation: Mentees receive individual mentorship to assist with developing and implementing college/career plans, college applications, completing the FASFA, scholarship forms, transportation to college/career interviews, and annual college tours.

- KFACT University: Continuing support to program participants through university.

- Labor of Love: Opportunities for mentees to give back to the community through volunteerism.

SCHOOL BASED PROGRAM | BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF CENTRAL NEBRASKA

The School Based program matches sophomores, juniors, and seniors with elementary school students. These matches meet together at elementary schools for 45-60 minutes per week on-on-one. Matches do activities together, play games, work on homework, complete crafts, play outside and more. Mentors must have their own transportation and meet the mentee at the same time on the same day each week.

PALS | LUTHER COLLEGE

The PALS program pairs Luther College students with area elementary and middle-school students to provide one-on-one relationships between the student volunteers and children ages 5 to 15 who would like or need companionship. Children with special needs are matched first (i.e. disabilities, single parent households). The volunteers meet with their child at least once each month and a group recreational activity is scheduled monthly.

Provides the opportunity for the mentor (Big) to visit their Little in the child's school, after school program, or at another youth-serving agency. This allows for the mentor to meet in a more structured environment than out in the community, usually for about an hour per week.

STUDENTS EXCEL WITH FAMILY ENRICHMENT PROGRAM | GARDEN OF PRAYER YOUTH CENTER

Offers a before and after school program. Services provide children individual and group tutoring, as well as mentoring services to decrease school suspensions and to address the mental health and academic needs. Children are given a snack and provided with homework assistance, life skills, and recreational activities.

Character and leadership development. Programs include aquatics, arts, sports, fitness and recreation, health and life skills, educational and career development, job training, career preparation, tutoring services, and age appropriate community service.

MENTORING | CU ONE-TO-ONE (CU 1-TO-1)

Provides a school-based mentoring program for students in Champaign Unit 4 and Urbana District #116 Schools.

Mentors are matched one-on-one with a student when the student is in 3rd-7th grade.

Mentors meet with their 'mentees' for one hour a week during the school day on school grounds.

Mentors commit for one year at a time but are asked to commit to the same student each of the following years through the student's high school graduation.

Students who stay in the program through high school graduation receive a scholarship for continuing education, funded by the Mentoring Scholarship Foundation.

Works to match an adult with a child to share fun activities they both enjoy. Community Based matches are asked to spend 4 hours a month together for at least 1 calendar year.

BRIDGE OF HOPE | HOME SWEET HOME MINISTRIES

Links homeless families with a social worker and a church-based "neighboring group" which actively participates in the family's life, has monthly activities with the family, a monthly Bridge of Hope night, and makes weekly phone calls. Commitment to the support is for up to two years.

Church-based mentoring groups are made up of volunteers from local churches and then matched to the mothers in the Bridge to Hope program.
