Tech Tools, a developmental technology library, provides adapted toys and devices to people of all ages with individual and physical disabilities at no cost to families and professionals. Libraries are located in Omaha, Gretna, Lincoln, Norfolk, Grand Island, and Kearney.

Family Focus is a series of events throughout the year designed for the entire family unit bringing families facing similar challenges together and providing the opportunity to draw strength and knowledge as well as relax and socialize.

Coordinates vacations for individuals with developmental disabilities to various locations such as San Antonio Texas, Chicago Illinois, and Alaska by rail. Vacationers pay for the trip of their choice, with trained caregivers providing assistance at a 1:3 ratio.

LOW VISION PEER SUPPORT GROUPS | PACE CENTER FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING

Low Vision Peer Support Groups discuss access solutions with others who have similar circumstances. The consumers served find the support of each other invaluable, positive and uplifting. Groups focus on solutions and learn about tools for independence that can facilitate staying in their own homes in the community if so desired.

Equipment assessment and demonstration, some giveaways and larger equipment purchases are available such as OrCam small camera that fits on glasses to read print to wearer or recognize items and faces. Some CCTVs on site can be tried out. Iris Vision wearable technology for magnified vision is also available.

POLIO INFORMATION AND SUPPORT | NEBRASKA POLIO SURVIVORS ASSOCIATION

Support group meetings held the first Sunday of each month March-November (except for holiday weekends, when meetings are on the second Sunday). Meetings are primarily offered on Zoom and occasionally in person.

Y Weight Loss is designed for individuals looking to lose weight through education, personalized goal setting, and small, sustainable changes.

The Mills County YMCA only offers Y Weight Loss and the YMCA Healthy Living Center only offers Brain and Body.

DISABILITY INFORMATION AND SUPPORT | ARC OF PLATTE COUNTY, THE

Advocates for the rights of citizens with developmental disabilities and their families.

Parents for Parents program provides on to one support to families of children with developmental disabilities by sharing information on disability and community resources; call for meeting times.

Recreational activities for children with disabilities such as a summer camp and Pals 'n Play, a play therapy program for ages 5-21 with an intellectual or developmental disability.

People First helps adults with disabilities learn how to speak out and have confidence to see themselves as People First -- their disabilities second; call for meeting times.

Project Guardian Angel is a special project in partnership with the Columbus Police Department to ensure the safety of I/DD individuals in the community through a database housed at the police station.
